Karen Moore McKenzie Thank you for representing Clan Muir at the Gathering 2009

To those who bravely stepped up to the call to honor the Clans, I thank you for being there and going through all that you endured to be the beacon for the Muirs. It would not be easy for anyone to have been the first in abt 250 years of being bannished, to step back into the circle we once very strongly belonged and participated in wholeheartedly. I hope we can grow closer togather, and heal those ancient wounds. God Bless! Karen Continue

Robert B. More, High Commissione Seanchai Corner - Introduction

The Seanchai (SHAN' a-ky) is a remnant of the old Celtic Bardic system. A Seanchai is a story-teller whose tales were intended to entertain the community during the long dark nights of winter in the days before electric lights, radio, television and movies. But the Seanchai is also responsible to perpetuate the wisdom of our Celtic ancestors by oral repeating of information diligently memorized, and passed on from one generation to another. I lay no claim to the astounding feats of memory of th… Continue

Karen Moore McKenzie Burning questions

I have about a bizillion questions in my head, and I have no place to ask them, (that I am aware of). Firstly, how many zeros are in a bizillion? Secondly, did I spell that correctly? lol. Ok, seriously... Some of my questions are way out there, but something tells me there might be a clue or a new avenue to inspect to gather truth for myself. So, I put my brave heart on my sleeve, and although I am sometimes shaking in my braveheart boots, I am going out of my comfort zone, and I am just going… Continue

David J Moir, HC-NZ Online banner page heading

[ Draft ]You are doing marvels with site presentation. This heading accords with personal likes. ie subject matter, colouring. Is that Lady Godiva on the white charger. The rampant lions... are they purely decorative or is their some symbolism. The lion on right is clinging onto the wall. Hope he doesn't fall off. The colour selection for the page ie two shades of brown with a touch of purple, I find very satisfying. Overall a nice job. Dave Moir Continue

Michael Moir the Clann Crest

Hello All, I was wondering if anyone can tell me who's head is located in our family Crest? This is somewhat different then the Moir Coats of Arms that have been issued, seven that I have seen, which all have three severed black heads on them. As well as the head atop the shield. I read that the Moirs were mercinaries and at some point saved a King or nobleman from assasins and were granted coats of arms for this. However, there are seven that all are different. If anyone can tell me about the C… Continue
