Douglas,
My sincere apologies to you; my intent had been to send this comment to one of the members who was thanking you for what you did at the Gathering. I must have got confused between all the various folks who were writing about the Gathering. It is my understanding that, yes, without you, nothing would have happened at the tent.

However there have been many who, obviously, do not know there were others there helping out and I feel that they should also be acknowledged (unless they have asked not to have their names mentioned?

Again Douglas, this comment was not intended for you and I regret I did not check what I was doing! I hope you will accept my apologies.

Thank you for representing the Clan at the gathering! I too have had a little experience with only 2 years hosting a tent in Ky, but I'm sure nothing to compare to this event. It was a wonderful thing you did for I thank you.

heh doug it was a great thing that you did in representing the Clan at the gathering, I know a little about that as I had a Clan Muir tent at the Alaska Scottish Highland Games for the first time in their history. it was my first time as well, but lessons learned it will be better next year. Clann Brother,
I have not the fancy or polished words to express how much what you have done for Clann Muir means to us.
What I can say is.. 'I thank God for you".
You brought Clann Muir home, your name will stand in her history for all time.
Thank you for officially placing her back in the Clans of Scotland.
Silante',

Hello again Douglas, I want to again pass on my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful effort you put in in order to make Saturday such a success - the photos are great and I am so pleased that you managed to get to the event in the evening at the castle. It was also great to hear that you were joined by a member from Canada who stayed at the tent with you; was he able to be at the evening event also? If you are in contact with him again please would you pass on my thanks. I take it that you were not able to purchase the case of my favourite "wee dram" on my behalf to pass on to visitors, but if you did please let me know the cost and I will reimburse immediately (you mentioned previously that there were strict alcohol rules - so perhaps this was not possible?). You seemed to enjoy the day - and without you we would not have these wonderful images and memories of our clan taking its place in history. With greatful appreciation, Chief Andrew
