This genealogy database idea is a difficult thing. It takes many years of intensive effort to build such a resource. Tree is linked to the clan site, but maintains his own site because his database is set up on his own computer and it is easy for ...

Would you please double-check whether surname was spelled as Mure or Muir. This does not infer that Muir was the accepted spelling in this family. It is simply ruling in or out how to look for info.

Let's have another shot at this. If you are not too tired, you could do some solid research and confirm that what I am giving you is indeed correct. I don't want to see people writing and throwing around dates and wild assumptions that have no bas...

Discipline when researching

A tip for researchers.

When someone is writing an essay, or is writing an account of research undertaken, one of the key rules is:
- is this relevant?
- is this a red herring?
It is important to keep focussed.

When you are doing general discovery, naturally you won't know what you'll find. So make your notes, then afterward, sort them by general category, eg Rowallan, or Caldwell, etc. Then do a sub-sort into topics, eg lands, genealogy, heraldry, etc

When it comes to writing up your work, sk… Continue

Online banner page heading

[ Draft ]You are doing marvels with site presentation. This heading accords with personal likes. ie subject matter, colouring. Is that Lady Godiva on the white charger. The rampant lions... are they purely decorative or is their some symbolism. The lion on right is clinging onto the wall. Hope he doesn't fall off.
The colour selection for the page ie two shades of brown with a touch of purple, I find very satisfying. Overall a nice job. Dave Moir

Thank you for your message - we have just moved into new premises and are 10 times busier (which was needed - we were previously in a small fishing villlage 2 miles away, so location is all important) I will contact you again with an update - but this is the first time I have managed to check emails in the 14 days since we opened, and we are open 7 days a week til late. It is great to think that we are in contact half way around the world. Yours, Chief Andrew

Dear David:

Always good to hear from you.

The main way anyone can help me is just to keep me posted on when anyone else has queries about MUIR genealogy. Always glad to help, but sometimes miss the posts (at least for awhile). My e-mail (and anyone's welcome to write me there) is: tree9616@aol.com

Again, thanks.

Sincerely,
Randy

Dave that's a good name same as my brothers. Waving a hand right back atcha. Well in Marlyand we enjoy Family, The Beach, and Seafood. I'm a fan of racing and have a pretty wicked race car. My wife is getting into traveling more, but her time is consumed, by our daughter. My daughter is pretty little she likes to smile and giggle mostly. Well Dave tack care, and throw some shrimp on the barbi, for us. LOL

Hi David

Moore is my maternal line. The photo is a Lamont castle ruin (Toward Castle) from my paternal sign. My 7G grandfather changed his name from Lamont to Young after this massacre in 1646.
