I am indeed your cousin. The eldest son (only son) of the eldest Muir boy J.C. (which by the way is what we call my son). I"m afraid that I don't have any information about Ossie Jean's parents, but my sister Barbara may. I'll need to check and see if it's OK to send you her email address but I'm sure she and Stella would both be happy to hear from you.

Carol,
Thank you so much for your concern. To give you an idea of what is is like here, I will attach the description that I just sent Jan. on the Fires in Victoria

For the last three days and still today, Monday morning 16th Feb 2009, the winds have carried the smell of smoke from the bush fires to where I live on the bay in South East Melbourne.

The scale of the fires is brought home not only the constant news reports on the television and peoples constant commiserations with each other and the questions “are all your friends and family ok” but by the pungent smell of the smoke that is ever present and by the sky that has turned to white haze as though it is overcast when the sky is reality blue on a summer’s day like today.

The sun too has an eerie orange glow in the mornings and the evenings and everything around the garden is coloured by this smoke filtered light.

One is conscious though, that it is not just the smell of burning bush!

Regards,
Victor
