This is a long shot but If you dont ask the question you may never find out.......
Does anyone have in their Family a Matthew MUIR of Mauchline who was buried on 7th April 1802....... The Ayrshire Burial Index does not list his Parents ... I believe he could be my Matthew who married Janet CAMPBELL.(1778). I am hoping someone may have him in their tree. or perhaps can relate to one of the Children..
Matthew and Janet had 5 Children
Jean b. 1779
Matthew b. 1781
Janet b 1784
Agnes b.1787
James..b 1794
All children born in Mauchline....
IF the naming pattern was followed it would suggest Parents would be Matthew and Janet...
I have contacted the Ayrshire FHC asking if there would be more information on this Burial... but no luck. There doesnt appear to be any Monumental Inscriptions either.... so next best thing would be to find someone with a connection to this Family. Anyone have any other suggestions as to how I can find out more about this Burial..
I have the Children of Robert MUIR and Mary FAIRSERVICE and William born 12 Apr 1740 is one of them...***but I dont have any marriage for him............ its Matthew their son who is the stumbling block... the IGI has a death in 1760 which states Matthew MUIR son of Mary FAIRSERVICE and Robert MUIR died 10 Feb.,1760... but the OPR for Kilmarnock and the Ayrshire Burial Register only has the Father's name no Mother...
Then the Ayrshire Burial Register has a death of a Matthew MUIR of Mauchline in April 1802........who I believe is my Matthew who married Janet CAMPBELL but I cant find any more about this Matthew... or a death of Janet CAMPBELL
there is also a birth on the OPR's of a Matthew MUIR in 1757 with Father Matthew. No Mother mentioned this could be the son of the Matthew who is the Son of Robert and Mary Fairservice...
Thought I had found someone else who had Robert MUIR and Mary FAIRSERVICE in their Family.... they had (Janet the youngest child of Robert and Mary ... )married to a William BONE but when I checked the Burial register for Janet BONE (aka MUIR) her age was way out to be Janet born to Robert and Mary... dont know where he got the information that she was the dau of Robert and Mary.....
If you come accross anyone who has a Matthew MUIR who died in 1802 in Mauchline would love to know..
